Joint concert with the Choir of Merton College, Oxford
Today the mixed choir was joined by Benjamin Nicholas and the Choir of Merton College for a concert of choral classics - pieces by composers as diverse as Byrd, Pärt, Grieg, and Dove were included. Naturally, the concert concluded with Tallis's magisterial 40-part motet Spem in alium. As well as performing together, the choirs enjoyed meeting each other and were treated to a dinner in hall. Jesus College Choir is especially pleased to welcome Merton to Cambridge this year, having visited Oxford for similar concerts in the past two years.
